⁷ For their possessions were too numerous for them to dwell together, and the land where they were residing was unable to support them because of their livestock. ⁸ So Esau lived in Mount Seir (Esau is Edom).

⁹ So these are the genealogies of Esau, the father of Edom in the hill country of Seir.
